Adoption Application
Our dedicated rescue volunteers carefully review each application as quickly as possible. Please be sure to provide Vet and Reference information, and give them a heads up about our call. You’ll be notified as soon as a decision is made. Since we often receive multiple applications for the same dog, we strive to match each dog with the most suitable home.
If you aren’t selected for your first choice, please don’t be discouraged! There are always wonderful dogs in need of loving homes, so keep an eye on our website for new arrivals.
💡 Didn’t hear back from us? This doesn’t necessarily mean you were declined—it may simply mean another applicant picked your choice of dog first. While every effort will be made to mack contact, please reach out if you don't hear within 3-5 days. We can easily transfer your application if you’re interested in another dog!
Once approved, you’ll be added to a group chat with our team (via Facebook Messenger if available to you). This is your space to ask questions and receive pictures and videos of your future pup when time allows!
When a transport date is confirmed, you’ll be added to a transport group chat along with other adopters. This chat keeps you updated throughout the journey and connects you with fellow adopters.
Once approved, a non-refundable deposit of $150 USD is required. This secures your choice of dog, as well as helps cover veterinary and border costs, which the rescue must pay upfront. Since these costs are non-refundable to us, the deposit cannot be refunded.

You’ll receive an adoption contract to review and sign. If you have any questions, simply ask in your group chat—we’re happy to help!
Your new dog will travel safely in a kennel by a 2024 heated/air conditioned, and video monitored trailer Driven by Texas Rags to Riches team members and/or dedicated volunteers from Texas to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. Pit stops are made to feed, water, and stretch the legs of your dog(s).
Our team handles all necessary paperwork and fees for the border and broker.
